Jenn Bates

Musical Theatre & Dance Instructor

Jenn Bates originates from Worcester, Massachusetts. All her life she has studied dance and theater. In 2001 she moved to Virginia. She is the former owner and artistic director of Absolute Dance. Jenn's life revolves around dancing, musical theater and her family. As a student, she was involved in high school and college drama programs. She performed in Bye Bye Birdie, Oliver and The Wiz amongst numerous other performances. Jenn was a singer, dancer and actress at Busch Gardens in Das Festhaus, as well as one of the original cast members for Howl-O-Scream. As a New England Patriots Cheerleader she took the field entertaining thousands weekly.


Ms. Bates began working with Centerstage and teaching theatre in 2006. Known for her top-notch choreography, she helped produce such shows as Footloose and Destination Rock n' Roll. In 2009, when her first son was born she took a break from theatre and focused on her dance studio and new family. Her little family was made complete in 2011 after the birth of her second son. Since closing Absolute Dance, we have been very fortunate and excited to welcome Ms. Jenn back to Centerstage. Her high energy and creative ways make her classes a favorite and her students shine!
