We have known Gloria for many years now, as a parent of one of our theatre students, Kathleen Smith and as a music teacher in a local private school. With her nest now empty, she has chosen to spend her free time with us and her new Centerstage students! Gloria says she is "delighted to be joining the faculty at Centerstage Academy" and "really enjoys teaching private piano and voice lessons and working with students of all ages!"
Gloria received her bachelor's degree from Campbell University and her master's degree in education from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Ft. Worth, TX. She has spent the past 12 years teaching music in local Christian schools and has taught privately for over 25 years. Her experience gives her the background to teach a wide variety of styles, including classical and music theatre.
We've found that experience and education are only one part of the equation, however. Personality plays a large role in students' experience, motivation, commitment and progress. Gloria has a friendly, nuturing personality that sets her students at ease and gives them the freedom to learn and discover their passion. Her attention to the individual makes each lesson unique and special, personalized to specific interests and learning styles.
We look forward to having Gloria as a vibrant part of our Centerstage faculty for many years to come! Her private teaching schedule is now a full-time part of her life and a priority focus. This provides a consistency and stability for her students that is sometimes hard to find in a teacher.
We expect Gloria's schedule to be busting at the seams pretty soon! Currently, she has openings on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. If you're interested in piano or voice lessons with Gloria, you'd better register right away. We're so sure you'll love the lessons, we'll give you the first one free!
