Summer Lessons: Protecting Your Investment

Your child's education must surely be of utmost importance to you. The faculty of Centerstage Academy works diligently to assure that your children receive quality instruction. We are dedicated to helping them build a life-long enjoyment of music and performing arts. We partner with you in fostering this learning and hope for a long and continuing appreciation of the skills your child develops during weekly lessons.

Summer is an excellent time to add assurance and insurance to the skills

your child develops throughout the year.

Consider the benefits of summer music lessons. As many of my colleagues did, I began my instrumental music study during summer band school starting between 5th and 6th grades. I continued this summer program throughout the years. I am grateful that my parents provided this opportunity for me. Every morning from the beginning of June until the middle of August I traveled with friends to "Summer Band." Not only did I learn the physical skills of playing instruments but I also enjoyed learning social skills, how to work in a group, how to play in an ensemble, how music making occurs and many other aspects of the collective experience.

Rather than "taking the summer off" from music lessons, do think of the extra time your child has without the daily responsibility of school work. Summer is a fine time for private lessons since days have more free time and schedules are more open, allowing for more practice.

Also consider increasing the time and timing of private lessons. The half-hour lesson can easily be increased to forty-five minutes or an hour with little effort. Vacation plans can be accommodated with our flexible scheduling. Best of all, the effort that has gone into developing skills during the regular session will not be lost by months of inactivity. "Use it or lose it" applies to music just like any other activity.

Protect your investment in your child's music education

by continuing lessons during the summer!
