A Special Celebration!
We're celebrating our 30th anniversary with a special production of Shrek the Musical! We have made so many memories since Centerstage opened it's doors in 1995, we thought this show would be appropriate ... especially as it features a crazy band of family and frriends who learn that everyone has a story to tell!

An Extraordinary Production
Fun for the whole family, this will be a knock-out production by an amazing team of directors, featuring an insanely talented cast of Centerstage students, alumni, faculty and friends. In fact, we had to double cast some of the roles in order to showcase the talent ... including alumni coming from as far away as New York and Alabama. There's even a special guest appearance by a thirteen foot, fire-breathing pink dragon puppet who has her glowing eyes and fluttering lashes fixed on Donkey! Don't miss this over-the-top theatrical experience!!​

The stunning new performance hall at William & Mary - the Glenn Close Theatre - will provide an amazing backdrop for our special production! Who's in which cast?
Everyone will appear in every show,
but some of the leads will rotate:
"Once upon a time, there was a little ogre named Shrek...." And thus begins the tale of an unlikely hero who finds himself on a life-changing journey alongside a wisecracking Donkey and a feisty princess who resists her rescue. Throw in a short-tempered bad guy, a cookie with an attitude and over a dozen other fairy tale misfits, and you've got the kind of mess that calls for a real hero. Luckily, there's one on hand... and his name is Shrek.

Everyone's favorite ogre is back in the hilarious stage spectacle based on the Oscar-winning, smash hit film. Based on the Oscar-winning DreamWorks Animation film, Shrek the Musical is a Tony Award-winning fairy tale adventure that brings all the beloved characters you know from the film to life on stage. Shrek proves there's more to the story than meets the ears ... and beauty is truly in the eye of the ogre.
